Chocolate with marshmallows is one of my favorite
combinations. I especially love Mallomars, the chocolate covered marshmallow
cookie treats you can find in stores. So why not make your own? This treat is super
simple, boxed cookie mix anyone? It takes less than 20 minutes to make and you
are sure to have your friends asking for more! Give this a try this weekend and
let me know how yours come out!
Chocolate Marshmallow
Pillows
Ingredients:
- No need to get fancy, buy a box chocolate chunk cookie mix (I used Betty Crocker)
- ¼ cup vegetable oil, 2 tablespoons water, 1 egg or whatever mix calls for
- 12 large marshmallows, cut in half
- 2 king sized chocolate bars or bag of chocolate chips, melted
What to do:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Make the cookie mix according to the box’s directions.
- Use a teaspoon or an ice cream scoop to drop dough balls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 7 minutes, no longer.
- When you take the pans out immediately press half a marshmallow onto each cookie.
- Put back in the oven and bake another 2 minutes.
- Remove cookies from pan and let cool until marshmallows are firm again.
- Coat each cookie with melted chocolate.
Tips
- Instead of melted chocolate, you could use store bought chocolate frosting to cover cookies.
- Try using white chocolate instead of milk or dark chocolate.
These are best eaten warm but do try to save some for your
friends and family! Self-control is hard, I know.
You could also try making these with sugar cookies or
chocolate chip cookies.
Be sure to check back next Friday Funday for a birthday
treat!
