In honor of Easter Sunday this weekend, I am sharing a very
special family recipe. These cookies are simple to make but you can have fun
decorating them! They are delicious light and flakey cookies so be careful as you
will have a problem eating just one!
Spritz Cookies
Ingredients:
- · 8 oz Crisco (one smaller can)
- · ¾ cup granulated sugar
- · 1 egg
- · Half a bottle of vanilla extract
- · 2-1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- · ¼ teaspoon baking powde
What to do:
2. With your electric mixer, mix Crisco and sugar together until creamy (about a minute).
3. Add eggs and vanilla.
4. Slowly add sugar, flour and baking powder.
5. Once well mixed, drop balls of dough onto pans and flatten slightly.
6. Cook for about 10 minutes.
I separated the dough
into three dishes and dyed them green, blue and pink!
Tips
- · These cookies will not stick to the pan! So no need to grease the pans.
- · You can use butter instead of Crisco.
- · If you want to make them pretty, you can dye the dough with food coloring.
- · If you have a cookie press, you can make the cookies into fun shapes.
- · This recipe makes a lot of cookies, especially if you make them small. You can freeze the extra cookies by lying them flat on a paper plate and putting the plate into a freezer resealable bag. Wrap the bag with foil and don’t forget to label them as spritz cookies!
I hope you enjoy my family’s special recipe! My dog certainly
did!
Please let me know how yours come out!
Happy Easter and check back next Friday Funday for a sugary
breakfast treat!

I like to use anise flavoring as well. Also that's a pretty cute dog!
