This weekend you’ll want to try this amazingly simple but
fancy breakfast treat! Hint—double the batch, you will eat most of them before
they are served!
Enjoy these with some friends over brunch this weekend (try these out with those amazing homemade waffles!) or have them as a special treat with dinner!
Cinnamon Sugar Popovers
Ingredients:
- · 2 eggs
- · 1 cup milk
- · 1 cup all-purpose flour
- · ¼ cup granulated sugar
- · 1 tablespoon butter, melted (microwave butter for 30 seconds)
- · ½ teaspoon salt
- · ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- · ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- · 4 teaspoons vegetable oil
What to do:
- With your electric mixer, beat eggs, milk, butter, salt, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar and flour.
- Let batter sit for 30 minutes.
We know it's hard to wait :)
- After 30 minutes, preheat oven to 450.
- Pour ½ teaspoon of oil into 8 muffin cups.
- Put muffin pan into the oven (without batter) and let sizzle for 10 minutes.
- Once that is done, pour batter equally into the 8 cups and bake for 20 minutes.
- Lower the oven heat to 350 and bake for another 15 minutes.
- When done, brush each popover with melted butter and sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
Tips
- · Bake on the lowest rack and remove the upper rack to give popovers room to rise.
- · Use the outer 8 muffin cups of the pan.
These are amazing served with some jam or extra butter! Let
us know how yours turn out!
